Student Profile:
- Grades K through 12
- From the Eau Claire Area School District
- Absent from school 30 days or longer for medical reasons such as injury, illness, or delivery of a baby (Not students with emotional issues or emotional illnesses)
- Referred by an administrator or counselor from their school of residence
- Earn credits or meet competencies
- Remain a student of their school of residence
McKinley staff contact each student’s school of residence, determine their educational needs, secure a copy of special education plans, and secure materials and homework from the school of residence.
The instructors provide tutoring support in core academic subjects (English, math, science, and social studies), test proctoring, and serve as a liaison to the staff of other schools.
Services are provided from September through May for one and one half hours three times per week as individually scheduled.
